Year 3 science topic in the Autumn term is Rocks. They enjoy taking part in the Rock Circus which is a visiting workshop for learning about rocks. The children learn about the different types of rocks and how they are formed. They learn how to test rocks for hardness, permeability, colour and how to classify them by their characteristics. The workshop takes place over a whole day and is very hands-on and practical.
